The year of the Air Max 98 continues with new lineup of colorways, collaborations, and special make up’s. Enter the “Gym Red” colorway, a bright new take on the 20-year-old running silhouette.

Air Max 98 fans have a big year ahead of them. Nike is bringing their classic Air shoe back, and cooking up a handful of special new colorways to boot. Among them is the new “Gym Red” iteration of the 98, a standard issue shoe with color blocking paying homage to the Supreme Air Max 98 from 2016. This version features an initial soft red layer forming the lowermost wave of the Air Max 98’s famous eye-catching upper. On top, another layer of stiff white leather provides support, highlighted by a black Swoosh logo on the lateral side. Bright red adorns the mesh sections of the upper, using black stitching to highlight the stripes that reach up towards the laces. Support overlays on the medial side of the shoe are white to contrast their red base, while the similar overlay on the toe is dyed red to match the shoe, and features another small Nike Swoosh logo in black. The tongue, and laces are cast in a simple white, white Air Max detailing on the tongue, heel, and insoles utilize the gym red color from the shoe’s name. Like most variations of the Air Max 98, this one will also feature the 3M piping around the shoe.

Little information is available to indicate a release date for the Air Max 98 “Gym Red” though the existence of official images indicate we could see this colorway arrive at Nike retailers soon. Check out the pictures for a closer look, and stay tuned to JustFreshKicks for more Air Max in 2018.
