Nike’s celebration of the Air Max 97 two years ago was received startlingly well by fans of the brand. Of course, the 97 was already considered one of the greatest sneakers of all time, but the passion and reception amongst younger heads, who’d missed out on the original days of the 97, was undeniable. So, Nike kept the celebration going. Now in our third year of excellent Air Max 97 releases, Nike has previewed a colorful new option that is sure to excite many 97 fans for the Summer. This week, a two-pack of Air Max 97s emerged online, showing the shoes in two matching tye-dye colorways. The first pair, which covers the upper’s wavy overlays in white, applied tye-day patterns to the mesh base layers of the shoe, while the black pair flips the script, opting for loud multicolor overlays on top of black mesh.
