The Nike Air Max 97 and Nike Air Max 1 are two of the most popular Air shoes of all time. With a proper hybrid of the two already on the way, Nike is preparing the AM97 OG with the very first Air Max colorway ever.

With the upcoming release of the Sean Wotherspoon Nike Air Max 1/97, both the Air Max 1 and 97 modes are getting a lot of attention right now. The combination of the two has brought back the love for the two OG models, and now it appears Nike has more planned for them then a hybrid between the uppers and soles. Early images of an upcoming Air Max 97 show the shoe in a new “Gym Red” colorway that is directly inspired by the original Air Max 1 color blocking. The shoe features an AM97 OG construction, with the upper half of the shoe taking on a plain silver hue along the mesh and main lines. The lower half of the upper utilizes a layer of bright red patent leather, giving the look of the OG Air Max release. The full-length Air bag comes is plainly translucent, while small hits of red add extra flare through the Swooshes, heel tab, and the outsole.
