Nike’s revamped version of the Air Max 97, dubbed Futura, is getting a makeover this season, in the silhouettes original and iconic “Silver Bullet” color scheme.
In recent years, Nike has introduced the Futura Air Max line, which updates their classic silhouettes with a new and refreshed look while maintaining the pieces that made them iconic. Not to be confused with their actual collaborations with the artist Futura, the project has largely focused on the AM90, as well as the more recent Air Max 97. These pairs make some slight changes to the shape of the silhouette, as well as remixing the layers. This week, the 97 surfaced in one of their all-time great color schemes: the Silver Bullet. Paying homage to the model’s very first release in 1997, the pair sports metallic silver panels over a grey mesh base, contrasted with black accents and flashes of bright red.

Nike’s next release of the Air Max 97 Futura has not been given a set release date yet, but will arrive sometime during the Spring 2024 season. The iconic “Silver Bullet” colorway of the updated model will be available from both Nike and select retailers for $180.
