Nike’s initiative to bring better quality sneakers to their female fans has been going well. Over the last several months, high-profile shoes have dropped in exciting new colorways, like this burgundy Air Max 97 with a corduroy twist.
The reign of the Air Max 97 continues. By now, most sneaker collectors are aware that the shoe celebrated its twentieth-anniversary last year, and has returned in 2018 in greater numbers and colors. While last year saw the release of many original color schemes from the 90’s, Nike has taken quite a turn since then, introducing dozens of brand new patterns and colorways onto the timeless silhouette. The latest new look to grace the Air Max 97 is one the cleanest this year and is only available in women’s sizes. This 97 is covered almost entirely in a deep burgundy color. The wavy upper fits the color well and adds plenty of texture by making use of corduroy throughout the entire shoe. The small Swooshes stand out in white from the dark background and a series of small jewels around the midfoot make the shoe pop with extra flair.
