Nike’s retro reissue of the Air Max 96 II is almost here, answering the calls of many Air Max heads for the return of a beloved model. This week, we have an early look a new “Purple Dawn” color scheme, coming soon.

Retro Air Max models are some of the most plentiful in Nike’s arsenal, comprising a fair share of the brand’s archives from the ’80s and ’90s. The Swoosh also has a penchant for returning some of these sneakers to the fold, years after their initial launch due to nostalgia among fans for past styles. This year, the Air Max 96 II is primed for a run of releases, teased earlier this year with the classic “Cherry” color scheme. This week, we have an early look at another colorway set to release this year, this time showing off something new. The latest pair of the Air Max 96 II is dressed almost entirely in a soft “Purple Glow” color, from the base layer to the outer suede overlays. Mid-layers in a faded yellow peak out from underneath, while yellow Swooshes and tongues complete the look.
