The Nike Air Max 95 Ultra first made its debut in 2015, updating the classic running shoe in celebration of its 20th anniversary. Now, after a few years on hiatus, the 95 Ultra is back, sporting a new color scheme inspired by the 95’s original ‘Neon” look.

Nike’s Ultra iterations of some of the brand’s most famous footwear originally launched in the mid-’10s, intended as a platform to help bring vintage models into the modern-day with new technologies and the elimination of unnecessary materials. The Ultra program primarily focused on the Air Max line, transforming yesterday’s top running shoes into today’s premier lifestyle wear. The enhanced versions of classic Nike sneakers were a major improvement on the comfort and styling of these silhouettes, but Ultra footwear seemed to dry up suddenly in 2018. This year, it appears Nike is ready to bring back some of its favorite Ultra models, starting with 2015’s Air Max 95 Ultra, introduced during the silhouette’s now-famous 20-year-anniversary run of releases. Featuring a heavily slimmed-down upper and midsole and near stitchless design, the 95 Ultra is back in 2021 and sporting a fresh grey color scheme directly inspired by the original ‘Neon” Air Max 95.
