This week, Nike is kicking off their Anatomy of Air series, with an Air Max 95 inspired by the human muscle system. Today, we got an early look at another color scheme, this time featuring details of a human spine along the heels.

Nike’s Air Max 95 has seen a solid string of releases in the past several months, dropping in exciting colorways on a regular basis. This week, the Swoosh is dropping their first silhouette from the Anatomy of Air series, which casts the layered runner in new styles inspired by different parts of the human anatomy. The project will start with a white and red look that references human muscles, and today, we got our first look at another new look that includes details pulled from our bones, specifically, the human spine. This pair features layered canvas for the shoe’s signature waves, fading from shades of tan at the top to dark red tones near the midsole, while brown suede overlays are added to the toes and tongues. The heel counters feature an outline of a spinal column, which is echoed on the visible airbags on the bottom of the shoes.

Nike’s ‘Spine’-inspired edition of the Anatomy of Air Air Max 95 has not yet been officially announced, though we do expect them to release in the coming weeks. The brown and red color scheme will be available from both Nike and select retailers, with a new price tag of $185 for 2022.
