Nike Chops the Top Off of the Air Max 90 for an Air-Filled Sandal

The Nike Air Max 90 has begun its anniversary celebration, honoring 30 years of the running silhouette’s legacy. This week, Nike surprised us with a new iteration, which loses most of the classic look in favor of a simple sandal strap.

Air Max 90 Sandals are here. Just after the brand’s first release of the rebuilt Anniversary addition, which returns to the origianl shape and material, Nike has something else new to show off with the AM90. Yesterday, the Swoosh quietly unveiled the new Air Max 90 Sandal, which turns the pivotal vintage running sneaker into a sleek and comfortable slipper. The underfoot tooling retains most of the 90’s shape, namely the colorful outline of the heel Air bubble and the TPU Air Max branding. The overfoot strap is a miniature version of the upper, mimicking the quarter panel’s leather overlays and miniaturized Swoosh, and Air Max branding front and center. The Air Max 90 Sandal is available in three launch colorways, Volt, Pink, and Black.
