Do you know what 2020 is? Like, in terms of sneakers? You should. It’s the 30th anniversary of the Nike Air Max 90, one of the most pivotal running-turned-lifestyle sneakers ever. Get ready for the OG “Volt” colorway, which returns next year.

Nike’s anniversary celebrations are always a cause for excitement in the sneaker world. The brand’s archives are filled with so many legendary and fan-favorite sneakers that every year is a wild card for what incredible silhouette will make its return. However, w already have a pretty good idea at what’s coming in 2020, and it shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. Next year, the legendary Air Max 90 will be celebrating its 30th anniversary, which means that Nike is ready to reissue the pivotal running shoe in its true OG form, as well as several fan-favorite colorways. While the OG “Pink” look was previewed a few weeks ago, we now also know that the legendary “Volt” OG color scheme will also be making a return in 2020. Feauring base layers in shades of grey, the neon color scheme incorporates Nike’s famous green tone as the shoe’s accent color, which stands out among the flat greyscale look of the silhouette.


Nike’s 30th anniversary iteration of the Air Max 90 OG has not yet been announced for released, let alone even seen yet, but we know they will release sometime in January 2020. There will likely be a reveal or first drop sometime around Air Max Day in March, though this is purely speculation. The original Volt color scheme will likely see a release in Spring or Summer, likely retailing for the silhouette’s usual $140 price tag.
