The Nike Air Max 90 has been an essential piece of the sneaker world since its debut almost 30 years ago. Now, the Swoosh is paying homage to the silhouette’s history through a “Mixtape”-themed colorway.

All hail the Nike Air Max 90. The origin of the Air Max line is closing in on its 30-year anniversary, and that means we can expect plenty of celebratory releases from Nike. This week, it appears that they’re getting off to an early start with the latest Air Max 90 Premium “Mixtape”. The multi-layered upper of this Air Max 90 is decked out almost entirely in grey and white paneling. The laces, Swooshes, and exposed Air bubbles in the sole are presented in a light “Lemon Frost” color for a splash of color, while classic orange Nike Swoosh logos adorn each tongue. The tongues also feature a reference to old school physical mixtapes, with “SIDE A” branding and a recommended RPM. Finally, the anniversary Air Max 90 features a “track list”-like ode to classic AM90 color schemes printed in the sole.
