Nike’s Air Max 90 is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, and as always, that calls for something special. This week, Nike unveiled their lates iteration of the classic sneaker, which adds FlyEase technology for everyone to wear.

Nike FlyEase has been one of the most interesting technologies to watch over the past few year. Originally developed through the brand’s basketball brand, the easy-access innovation finally branched out into other categories like running last year. Now, Nike is introducing their latest version of the FlyEase technology through the Air Max 90.

FlyEase started out as a simple zipper added to a shoe that wrapped around the heel, making the shoe essentially split in half to allow the foot inside. However, with the new Air Max 90 FlyEase, Nike is trying something new. This time, the timeless sneaker features an oversized plastic rim around the heel, similar to Undercover’s fan-favorite Daybreak from last year. That piece allows the wearer to collapse the heel, turning the Air Max 90 into a slide-style sandal with plenty of room to put your foot it. And, it can be done without hands, allowing an even wider range of people access to the new shoe.
