The Nike Air Max 180 is your favorite collector’s favorite Air Max. Release in the early 1990’s the sleek runner has gathered a massive cult following over the years, who are finally being treated to full retro releases of the coveted silhouette.
The Nike Air Max 180 is back. Originally released back in 1991, the AM180 was the pinnacle of Nike Air technology at the time of its release. The heel-centered airbag was the 50% more voluminous than previous models, making it one of the most comforting and uplifting shoes on the market. In the 26 years since its OG release, the Air Max 180 has exploded as one of the greatest Air Max sneakers of all time. The sentiment comes not only from their incredible performance on foot but the sleek and aerodynamic look that runners and sneakerheads alike fell in love with. Last year, Nike finally brought back the AM180 in all of it’s retro glory, but releases were few and far between, leaving some collectors left out. Luckily, Nike has a special new colorway coming soon to give those unlucky collectors another shot.
The latest colorway of the Nike Air Max 180 to surface for release has some fiery new details to it. These indicate that this will likely be a specialty release, celebrating some piece of Swoosh history or an event. The new AM180 begins with a flat black color for the initial black layers. Next, smooth black suede pieces are layered on top, providing structural support around the toes and midfoot. The Swooshes on either side come in a mix of orange and red tones, made to match the two-tone pink and red midsole. Finally, the shoe is completed by a cartoon campfire character on the tongue and a thermometer decal on the heels.

Nike’s special new Air Max 180 colorway is scheduled to drop on August 8th, 2018. The special-edition make up will retail for just $130, and likely release from secondary retailers other than Nike.
