Nike’s 4D-printed sneaker initiative, in partnership with Zellerfeld, returns with another release this month. The Air Max 1000.2 is still their flagship model, and lands in a “Pink Spell” colorway next week.
After debuting their first foray into 3D-printed sneakers last year, Nike has steadily issues more styles of their flagship model, the Air Max 1000. The silhouette is a riff on the iconic 1986 Air Max 1, and features the signature Air bag tucked into the sole of the model. This year, Nike and Zellerfeld, their partner on this journey, issued an update for the 1000, subtitled .2, which made the shoes quicker to print through a refined outsole lug pattern. The move ostensibly means more pairs can be made with a faster turnaround, but the scarcity of the sneaker is still the biggest story surrounding it. Next week, Nike aims to quell the chatter around the AM1000.2’s availability with a new “Pink Spell” colorway. The look retains the jet black printed upper of previous styles, paired with a hot pink Air bag under the heels.

Nike’s latest colorway of the 3D-printed Air Max 1000.2 is scheduled to arrive first from Zellerfeld on June 22nd, followed by a SNKRS app release on June 25th. The new style keeps the same black upper as the last release, swapping out the colored Air bubble for a bold “Pink Spell” tone. Pairs will come with a $180 price tag.
