Nike is going all out for their Air Max 1 anniversary celebration this year, introducing a number of limited releases this month alone. Additionally, we have our first look at the AM1 “Woof”, coming soon.
Nike’s Air Max Day releases for 2022 seemed a bit light, if you were on the SNKRS app this past Saturday morning. This should not come as a surprise right now, as sneaker releases have been all over the place due to global shipping and production delays for the past year and a half. The latest example of this is the Air Max 1 “Woof” we are taking a look at today, which appears to have been originally slated to release for Air Max Day 2022. Beginning with a white leather base, this pair adds suede and leather overlays in various prints and patterns, meant to evoke the accessories worn by our special pups like bandanas. The AM1’s upper eyelets have been reshaped into dog bones, while the bandana-like pieces feature a similar bone shape pattern. The tongues add some faux fur for texture, while volt green inner lining completes the look.
NIKE AIR MAX 1 “BEST FRIEND” RELEASE INFORMATION
Nike’s dog-inspired Air Max 1 ‘Best Friend’ was originally slated to release for the brand’s Air Max Day holiday this past weekend, though it appears there are some delays with this drop. Regardless, we will likely see this limited-edition AM1 release in the coming months, likely from both Nike and select retailers, with an elevated price tag. Check out the official images below for a better look, and stay tuned to JustFreshKicks for more Swoosh release news.
UPDATE 6/14/22: Nike’s ‘Best Friend’ take on the Air Max 1 has been revealed as an Asia-exclusive release, slated for June 18th, 2022. Dropping via the SNKRS app, we do not currently expect a wider global release, though we are still hoping given the attention to detail on this particular pair.
