The Nike Air Max 1 has been going strong since its anniversary celebration in 2017, with no signs of slowing down in 2020. This week, the classic trainer makes an appearance in the upcoming N7 collection, complete with a premium new construction.

Nike’s N7 collection, which celebrates Indigenous peoples and Native Americans in North America, is back for 2020, once again bringing native art and fashion to the forefront of their brand. This year, the legendary Air Max 1 joins the ever-growing collection, adding more classic and beloved sneakers to an important social equality message from Nike. This year, each shoe is taking on a raised haptic print that is inspired by certain Native artworks, as well as paying tribute to the gifts given at the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe’s traditional naming ceremonies. The construction begins with a soft suede base layer in light grey, with quarter panel overlays in a darker brown suede. The mudguard and Swoosh take on all of the applied patterns, while N7 branding on the tongues and insoles completes the look.
