It’s been three years since the Swoosh celebrated the Air Max 1’s 30th-anniversary, and the classic runner is still releasing exciting new looks to this day. This week, we have an early look at the “Asparagus” leather pair, coming soon.

Nike’s Anniversary iteration of the Air Max 1 has been resurfacing in new colorways this year, like the Magma Orange and Hunter Green pairs that slowly rolled out to retailers towards the end of Summer. Now, it appears Nike is fully sticking with the classic running sneaker for the foreseeable future, as the leather-clad Premium iteration of the AM1 surfaced in a new color scheme this week. Built entirely from leather, like the 1986 special-edition releases, this new look begins with a plain white base layer before adding “Asparagus Green” tinted overlays and laces to the build. Additionally, the AM1’s sewn-in Swooshes have been removed, instead replaced by a debossed version in the leather. Finally, the tongue is adorned by a lone embroidered Swoosh, split in two colors, white for the rounded section, and olive green for the tail.
