Nike is once again celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month this year, with another colorful collection of some beloved sneakers. Today, we got our first look at the Air Max 1 ‘Familia’, coming soon.
Nike began their Hispanic Heritage Month collections several years ago, applying colorful looks and unique textures to some of their iconic sneakers. Every year has been united by the theme of ‘Familia’, bridging each project together year after year. This week, we got our first look at a shoe from the 2023 series, the Air Max 1. While the official story behind this release has not been told yet, the shoes have plenty to say themselves. Constructed from a mix of suede, leather, and corduroy, the AM1 ‘Familia’ adds some unique new features like layered overlays that make for colorful outlines, and bound edged on the midfoot panels. The base of the shoe comes in a sand brown shade, with accent colors added in red, yellow, green, and pink.

Nike’s upcoming pair of the Air Max 1 for Hispanic Heritage Month has not been announced for release yet, but will likely drop sometime during the monthlong celebration from September 15th to October 15th. Pairs will be available via the SNKRS app and select retailers, with a price tag of $140.
