Nike has slowly been revising and updating some classic limited-edition colorways from years past, with the Air Max 1 taking on the bulk of these releases. This year, the 2014 “Escape” look is getting a 2.0 update, coming soon.
Nike’s Escape series originated in the early 2000s, and gave new looks to some of their iconic colorways, with palettes inspired by an escape to the great outdoors. Over the last few years, Nike has rereleased a number of these looks, mostly featuring the Air Force 1 and Huarache. Others have been remixed to fit on new silhouettes, or otherwise updated for the modern day. This week, we got our first look at another update, an “Escape 2.0” version of the 2014 Air Max 1 pair.
Nike’s revised version of the 2014 Air Max 1 Escape is largely similar to the shoe’s initial release, with a few small changes to materials and colors. The look begins with a white mesh base, adding two shades of brown for the overlays, a lighter suede for the midfoot and heel panels, and a darker one for the leather mudguard. Swooshes remain in black leather, while the red accent has been altered slightly to be more of an orange shade.

Nike’s newly revised version of the Air Max 1’s “Escape” colorway has not been announced for release yet, but is expected to arrive sometime in Fall 2024. Dressed in shades of brown with white and black, pairs will be available from the brand and select retailers for an anticipated $150.
