Nike’s upcoming Air Max 1 releases have gotten increasingly wild, so its nice to see the brand keep things simple with this classic black & white rendition of the 1987 runner, coming this Fall.
The Air Max 1 has seen its fair share of releases since its introduction in the late 1980s. From high-profile collaborations to in-house special projects, (like the upcoming ‘Everything You Need‘ release) the silhouette comes in about every color scheme you can imagine. Luckily, Nike still has some more subtle iterations of the classic running shoe on the way, including an essential black & white look in the model’s original color blocking. Featuring a white mesh base with a light grey suede overlay for the midfoot sections, the mudguards and Swooshes come in jet black, with outsoles, heel counters, and Nike branding to match.

Nike next release of the Air Max 1 in its classic color blocking has not been announced for release, though they are expected to arrive sometime in Fall 2023. The simple black & white look will likely be available through both Nike and select retailers, with the usual price tag of $140.
