Nike Air Max 1 ’86 “Museum Masterpiece” Releases in March

Nike has a special new pair of the Air Max 1 ’86 on the way in March, celebrating the art behind sneaker design with a “Museum Masterpiece” style that gives the silhouette the appearance of carved marble.

Sneaker design has been an art form since casual footwear became a fashion statement in the late 20th century. One of the pioneers of this field was Tinker Hatfield, who pulled inspiration from all around him to create his iconic silhouettes. One of his most famous works, the Air Max 1, is getting a new look to celebrate that ethos, with the “Museum Masterpiece” release coming in March. This special-edition pair of the ‘Big Bubble’ ’86 edition is made to look like a carved marble sculpture, featuring a textured upper with marbled coloring throughout. The midsole also gets some added texture to it to add to the museum-ready look. Special insoles evoke the signage displayed alongside museum art to complete the look.
