Nike plans to celebrate the 4th of July this year with an Air Max 1 and it’s looking like a sneaker you do not want to miss out on. Releasing before the holiday, check out the Nike Air Max 1 “4th of July”.
This is familiar territory for the Air Max 1 as the model took on a patriotic colorway in 2003 with the “USA” edition. Now it arrives with an updated colorway and a fresh new take on the iconic Air Max 1. There isn’t a better summer shoe than the Nike Air Max 1. It has been around for many years yet it has never once gone out of style.
For this edition, the shoe gets dressed up for the Fourth of July and it looks great. The upper arrives in white but the added overlays really are what makes the shoe. Light tan is able to contrast the white as well as a bright red that flows on the lower portion. Navy Blue then paints the Nike Swoosh and an American Flag is featured on the heels with thirteen stars. It also comes with three different laces so you’re able to customize it how you’d like.

You can expect the Nike Air Max 1 “4th of July” to release on July 1st at select retailers and Nike.com for a retail price of just $110. UPDATE 7/2: Originally supposed to release yesterday July 1st, the Nike Air Max 1 “4th of July” had fans waiting around for the release but it never came. Then it was reported later that Collin Kaepernick had reached out to Nike once images surfaced of the shoe and asked them to cancel the release as him and others found offense to the Betsy Ross flags on the heels and their association to a time in American history when slavery still existed.
