Nike has revived the early-2000s Air Kukini, bringing back a handful of the classic colorways alongside new ones. This week, a new ‘University Gold’ look has surfaced online, set to release later this Summer.
On New Years Day in 1999, Nike introduced the Alpha Project, a new series of shoes focused on identifying and solving performance problems in their products. The Alpha line produced a number of out-of-the-box silhouettes that remain popular to this day, like the Air Presto, as well as some lesser known models, like the Air Kukini, which was quietly revived last year. Among the classic colorways, the Swoosh has introduced several new styles, like this ‘University Gold’ pair that is coming soon. Featuring a golden shade across its form-fitting upper, this pair adds a scale-like pattern to the mix in a cool shade of blue. The cage and heel accents come in black to complete the look.
