The Nike Air Kukini may be one of the brand’s weirdest silhouette’s they’ve ever released. However, with most out-there Nike shoes, they have gathered a cult following since their introduction to the lineup in 2000. Now, the Kukini is set to make a comeback in 2022.

After an interesting revival from Stüssy in 2020, the Nike Air Kukini is officially making a return in 2022. The retro runner first popped up in leaks early this year, with a number of new and classic colorways expected to hit shelves, but we are only now seeing a solid release date for the first pair, which is set to drop next month. Dubbed the ‘Glitch’, this new look gets wild with the Kukini’s neoprene upper, applying a unique pixelated pattern across the shoe. The style is largely blue, with accents in red, green, and purple adding to the unique look. The shoe is framed by black leather overlays for the toe box and heels, with a milky white semi-translucent cage holds the silhouette together. Finally, a ‘Sail’ midsole rounds out the new style.

Nike’s upcoming release of the Air Kukini has been set for July 15th, 2022, marking the first drop of the retro sneaker so far this year. Coming in the colorful ‘Glitch’ colorway, pairs will be available from both Nike and select retailers for $120.
