Nike’s remastered retro release of the Air Huarache, in celebration of its thirtieth anniversary, has brought us a wave of new colorways so far this year, but some fans have been holding out for a specific retro release, and its finally here. Despite missing out on the initial launch of original Huarache colorways, the “Purple Punch” style famously worn by Michael Johnson in a 192 TV spot is coming back this year. Featuring a tri-tone look in white, black, and purple, the fan-favorite color scheme is often the go-to Huarache reference point for many.

UPDATE 1/30/22: Nike has finally announced the release of their “Purple Punch” Air Huarache OG, set to drop next week on February 9th, 2022. Arriving exclusively in women’s sizing, the classic color scheme will be available from both Nike and select retailers with the usual price tag of $120.
