Sustainability is the name of the game in the sneaker world, with Nike leading the way by introducing recycled materials into nearly every product they make. This week, the Air Huarache added an olive/sand color to its Next Nature lineup.

Nike’s Move to Zero campaign has brought about a wave of new sustainability initiatives. Emerging recently, the Next Nature program is taking the lead by crafting shoes from at least 20% recycled content by weight. The project spans everything from high performance running shoes to the new Air Huarache Next Nature, which rebuilds the classic silhouette with some new element to the design. The most notable feature of the Huarache NN is the upper’s base layer. Typically constructed from neoprene, the latest iteration swaps out the squishy, adaptive textile for a new woven layer, which creates a grid from recycled nylon webbing-like materials (similar to the Nike Air Woven that is set to return in the near future). The latest colorway of the Huarache Next Nature begins with a sandy brown shade for the midsole and base portions, before adding a beautiful olive green shade for the leather overlays, as well as a black TPU heel counter.
