Nike’s retro run of the Air Huarache is well underway this month, with the arrival of the OG “Scream Green” colorway last week. Now, the Huarache is set to return in other classic color schemes, like the basic triple black look, coming soon.

Nike’s Air Huarache running shoe first debuted in 1991, designed by the legend himself, Tinker Hatfield. The Huarache was a marvel in footwear engineering in ’91, due largely to the neoprene inner bootie that clung to your foot like the slalom water ski it was directly inspired by. Built for performance and comfort over distances, the Huarache’s form-fitting wearability and stability thanks to its numerous overlays quickly transitioned the silhouette from a performance masterpiece to a beloved lifestyle essential, the most common form for the retro silhouette today. Now, we are several months into Nike’s extensive rollout of the newly remastered Huarache, with OG colorways and collaborations already available, though Nike still has some beloved color schemes to release, like the classic triple-black makeup, an essential look for the vintage runner. This week we have an early look at the remastered all-black version, reverting to the shoe’s original materials as well as Nike’s International branding on the insoles.
