Nike is revisiting a modified pair of the Air Force 1 introduced last Fall, refreshing the silhouette with Summer-ready colors. The Vibram edition’s latest new look will land in a cool “Bomber Grey” shade soon.
The Air Force 1 has had dozens, if not hundreds of variations on the shoe’s base form since its introduction in 1982. The low-top version remains the quintessential form of the sneaker, and has been a streetwear icon for decades now. In the past year, Nike has increasingly turned to Vibram to supply sturdy and durable outsoles for certain sneaker models, with the Air Force leading the way. This week, the shoe’s Vibram edition has surfaced in a new color for Summer, painting the ripstop grid upper in a mix of Bomber Grey and Barely Grey tones, both using a hint of blue to create soft, cool tones.
