Nike is all in on the Air Force 1 this year, delivering dozens of new colorways and iterations so far in 2021. This week, we have an early look at an interesting new style, removing the strap from the AF1’s high-top version.

The Nike Air Force 1 has been a main weapon in the brand’s arsenal since it was first introduced to the lineup in 1982, and has remained there thanks to its versatility originally on the basketball court, before quickly emerging as a premier lifestyle sneaker. Now, the Air Force 1 is the stuff of footwear legends, revered sneakerheads the world over. This week, a new version of the typical Air Force 1 High emerged, showing off a sleek new high-top style that varies dramatically from its counterparts by removing the usual ankle strap, for a clean, unbroken leather upper. While we have already seen the shoe with red accents earlier this week, today we got a look at a second color scheme, this time taking on the fan-favorite “Neutral Grey” blocking. This looks adds subtle grey tones to the Swoosh and outsole, matching other beloved white and grey releases from the past several years.

Nike’s upcoming release of the throwback Air Force 1 High has not yet been announced for release, though they are expected to land on shelves sometime in the coming weeks. The new version, featuring premium leathers and no strap, will be available from both Nike and select retailers, with a price tag of $110.
