The Nike “Crater” collection was designed to refurbish existing Swoosh classics with new, sustainable materials. This week, we have our first look at the Air Force 1 Low from the collection, made with FlyLeather uppers and Crater Foam outsoles.

Nike’s goal of becoming a more environmentally sustainable brand has made massive strides so far in 2020. With the debut of the Space Hippie line, the Swoosh introduced a new wave of eco-friendlier footwear, with the announcement of a number of product lines dedicated to using sustainable materials in their construction. Amongst these projects is the Nike Crater Collection, which applies the new Crater Foam to a host of classic Nike silhouettes in the form of mid and outsoles, Swooshes, and any number of other overlays. This week, the Swoosh has added the Air Force 1 to their Crater lineup, complete with 50% recycled uppers and two quintessential color schemes. Arriving in both white and black hues, both pairs add their namesake Crater Foam to the AF1’s outsole, tongue branding, and rear heel tab, while the Swooshes come in a metallic silver finish. Both pairs have their own accent color for Nike Air branding, white using gold and the black pair opting for infrared.
