Nike’s Air Force 1 Low just keeps getting better with age. As news and images of the subtle Supreme AF1 are spreading around the internet, Nike has also unveiled a less subtle take on the classic, covered with Nike Air branding.
Nike’s Air Force 1 has seemingly never gone out of style, and for good reason. Originally developed for basketball, the Air Force’s simple and clean aesthetic combined with durable and consistent performace turned it into a lifestyle juggernaut, one that dominates popular fashion over 35 years later. With so many available styles and colorways to choose from, Nike is always adding something new to the mix, like this “Overbranded” style that has started to hit retailers this week. Despite maintaining the overall white colorway that has been commonplace with Air Forces over the decades, this version is much louder than normal, due to a ferocious amount of branding. To start, the famous AIR logo on the Air Force’s midsole has been copy & pasted just an inch and a half above its usual mark, now resting on the heel of the shoe. and made from stiff TPU. The heel logos receive the same treatment, sticking out in black plastic. The tongue also features an abundance of Nike branding, this time in the form of the shoe’s inner care label and tongue label stitched together to form a lacing loops down the center of the tongue. Finally, the toecap has been reworked, removing part of the perforated leather to make room for another Nike Air logo.
NIKE AIR FORCE 1 “BRANDED” RELEASE INFORMATION
Nike’s overbranded take on the classic Air Force 1 Low has already started to arrive at select retail stores, though Nike has yet to reveal their own release date. The eye-catching take will be available for $110, a slight bump from the usual price tag.
