Nike’s Flyknit Air Force 1s have been scarce in recent years, disappearing from the brand’s lineup in the years following the original’s 2016 debut. Now, Nike has unveiled the next generation, constructing the classic AF1 in recycled materials for the Crater collection.

Nike’s second iteration of the Air Force 1 Flyknit debuted earlier this year, cemented as a part of the Swoosh’s recent “Crater” collection that brings the “Move to Zero” ethos to life through the inclusion of recycled materials. Now, the Swoosh continues to iterate on the classic design, bringing us new colorways as the year progresses. This week, we have an early look at an upcoming “Sail” colorway of the Air Force 1 Flyknit, which casts the shoe’s knit upper entirely in a soft off-white tone, with slight tonal differences between what would typically be the various panels. The upper rests on top of a Crater Foam midsole, which mixes chopped up and recycled soles with new rubber for a more sustainable option.
