Nike’s use of waste and recycled materials in the past few months has been extremely impressive. This week, the brand finally showed off a collection of classic Swoosh shoes made from recycled materials, like the canvas Air Force 1, coming this month.

Nike’s approach to reducing waste and reusing leftover materials has turned into a new point of interest for their fans. Announced early this year and launched over the course of the past few months, the Swoosh’s Move to Zero campaign aims to reduce waste and excess across their production line, while making use of the leftovers to create something new. This week, the brand showed off an impressive new collection, which rebuilds a handful of classic Nike silhouettes with recycled materials. Today, we have a first look at the Air Force 1, which is made from recycled canvas uppers and lined with Flyleather, which is made from at least 50% recycled leather fibers. The laces and foam tongue are also made from recycled materials, while the brand’s new Carter Foam makes up the AF1’s outsole.
