Nike is gearing up for a retro of their Air Bakin basketball shoe, and plenty of colors are starting to emerge. This week, we have a first look at a “Triple Black” style, expected to land during the Holiday 2026 window.
One of Nike’s most anticipated releases this year is the Air Bakin retro. The silhouette first landed in 1997 among a larger collection of heat-inspired models, which included the Air Scald, Air Melt, Air Grill, Air B-Que, and of course, the Air Bakin. The collection was largely recalled, thanks to some controversial branding on all five styles, but the Air Bakin made a brief reappearance in 2007 with standard Nike Air branding. Fast-forward to 2023 when Nike and Supreme brought back the ’90s classic for a special project, a release that in hindsight seems to be Nike testing the waters for a full run of retro styles. This week, we can add another colorway to the growing list of releases for 2026, a simple “Triple Black” color scheme. The look is as you’d expect, casting every piece of the shoe in an inky black tone. Swooshes are added in white to stand out, as is the visible Air bag under the heels.

Nike’s latest colorway of their Air Bakin retro does not have a set release date yet, but is currently expected for a holiday 2026 release, meaning anytime between October and the end of December. The look is as you’d expect, applying black to every layer of the shoe’s construction, with white for the Swooshes and visible Air bags. Pairs will be available from both Nike and select retailers for $170.
