Nike is reviving their Air Max 180 this year, bringing the iconic runner back for another string of releases. This week, we got an early look at a new pair in black with “Dusty Cactus” accents, coming soon.
The Air Max 180 originally launched in 1991, at the peak of Nike’s advancements in running technology. The model was the first shoe to feature an Air bubble visible from the bottom of the sole, and increased the size of the bag for more cushioning. The model’s unique look and sporty stance has made the shoe a cult classic, spawning a number of retro runs, most recently in 2018. Now, the sneaker is back, after Nike first teased its release last Fall, starting with the OG “Ultramarine” look, releasing this week. Today, another pair has surfaced, expected for an August release, dressing the shoe in black with bright accents. The shoe’s upper is cast in black across mesh and suede layers, adding Alabaster yellow for the linings, Swooshes, and outsole. Meanwhile, “Dusty Cactus” blue covers the shoe’s branding, as well as appearing around the heels.
