Nike ACG’s seasonal releases of their most popular new models have brought us fresh colorways of the Mountain Fly for several years running now. This week, a new pair in “Velvet Brown” has emerged, returning the Gore-Tex edition of the shoe to their arsenal for the Fall/Winter 2024 season.
The Mountain Fly has been a staple of Nike ACG’s seasonal releases since the model was first introduced in 2020. Arriving at the peak of shelter-in-place orders, a solid pair of trail sneakers was an excellent excuse to get outdoors, and the rugged model released at the perfect time. Since then, the silhouette has evolved several times in the last four years, first turning into a low-top, then adding Gore-Tex, and finally, the introduction of the Mountain Fly 2, its current form. This season, the second iteration’s Gore-Tex-clad version returns with new colorways for 2024.
Nike ACG has yet to officially unveil their next seasonal collection, but new footwear for the changing seasons have already begun to emerge. The waterproof Gore-Tex version of the Mountain Fly 2 Low returns for the rainy months, with a “Velvet Brown” colorway as our first pair of the season. This look pits the shoe’s lower layers in the dark brown shade, while dark Burgundy Crush red decorates the soles and mudguards. ACG branding and the laces come in a light hemp shade to balance out the color palette.

Nike ACG’s next colorways of the GoreTex Mountain Fly Low 2 have not been announced for release yet, but will likely arrive sometime in Fall 2024. The low-top outdoor model in “white”Velvet Brown” and burgundy will be available via the SNKRS app and select retailers with a price tag of $180.
