Jordan Brand is blowing up to new proportions this year. With hot new releases coming every week, JB has secured a collaboration with one of the hottest athletes around right now: Nigel Sylvester. The BMX phenom will release a special AJ1 Next week.
Nigel Sylvester’s first collaboration with Nike is a piece of history. Working with Nike SB, he helped to create his own unique colorway of the legendary Dunk High, one of the worlds most famous skate silhouettes. This collaboration marked the first time that the SB team worked with a BMX rider, a big step for Nike. Now, Nigel taking on another iconic skate/BMX shoe: the Air Jordan 1.
The Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG NRG is a brilliant new color scheme for the timeless silhouette. The smooth leather upper is largely dyed in Nike’s signature Sail color, an off-white hue broken up by darker stain-like marks around the sneaker to show wear and tear. Some of the detailing around the shoe like laces and the large Swoosh comes in white, while others, like a mini Swoosh added to the toe box, are made to match the main upper. The tongue and inner lining come in black, while red detailing around the shoe completes the look.

Nigel Sylvester’s first project with Jordan Brand was recently officially announced for release on September 1st, 2018. The cream-colored pair will carry the standard $160 retail price and launch from both Nike and select retailers. While numbers are already expected to be limited, demand for this brilliant colorway is likely to be high and hard to secure a pair.
