Nicole McLaughlin’s unusual repurposed designs have been all over the internet in recent years, and it was only a matter of time before she applied her unique view to name brand footwear. Check out her take on the classic Crocs clogs, coming soon.

Crocs has been on top of its collaborative game recently, drumming up plenty of new popularity through hyped-up collaborations, including names like Post Malone, Justin Bieber, Bad Bunny, and now, tongue-in-cheek designer Nicole McLaughlin. If you follow sneaker accounts on Instagram, you’ve probably seen Nicole’s work before, creating items usually constructed entirely from something else entirely, like a slipper made of tennis balls or a vest made from mini cereal pouches. Her work has become somewhat of a niche joke on the internet, but that’s not to say that it shouldn’t be taken seriously. Now, the New York-based designer is teaming up with Crocs for their latest project, transforming the classic rubber clog into an outdoor-ready camping shoe. Beginning with the basic clog in black, Nicole adds a high-top shroud around the heel, constructed from ripstop nylon and secured via elastic tubing and a cordlock at the front. The release comes with a selection of Giblets as well, though they aren’t your usual cutesy animal inspired pieces. Instead, the detachable accessories include a length of paracord, a compass, carabiner, stuff sack, and headlamp.
