New Balance’s 997 is having quite the year in 2019. With the launch of the revamped 997H, New Balance also brought plenty of attention back to the 30-year-old sneaker, which is now available in a bold blue & yellow color combination.

The New Balance 997 is taking over in 2019. Despite the shoe being nearly thirty years old, the timeless silhouette originally designed by Steven Smith has found new life in modern say sneakers, usually associated with more high-brow fashion and footwear. However, that has never stopped the 997 from being one of the greatest looking shoes ever created and being represented in even the most carefree styles. This week, New Balance launched the OG 997 in a bold new color scheme, which paints the upper in contrasting tones to create an eye-catching new look. To begin, the midfoot quarter panels come in a deep grey to set the tone, while the toe box and heel counters are made from deep navy blue suede to provide a darker color. Next, neon yellow accents are added to the ankle, midfoot, and heel to create an eye-catching twist on the timeless silhouette.
