New Balance unveiled their ‘Grey Day’ collection for 2023 this week, featuring a wide range of models for the annual project. This includes a second pair of the 996 in its original grey shade, coming soon.
New Balance is slowly rolling out fresh pairs of their 996 model this year, reviving the 1988 running shoe with a series of Made in USA pairs. The latest look to emerge is a part of their annual Grey Day collection, which celebrates the brand’s iconic use of muted grey shades throughout their history. The latest look is similar to the 998 we first saw earlier this week, using a warm grey tone across the mesh and pigskin suede upper. Accents come in light tan shades, while white midsoles, laces, and inner lining complete the look.

New Balance’s second pair of their Made in USA 996 for the ‘Grey Day’ collection is set to release next week, on May 12th, 2023, alongside the rest of the annual project. Dressed in soft grey tones across the mesh and suede upper, this pair will be available from select retailers like Extra Butter for $175.
