New Balance seems determined to make their 740 retro one of the hottest shoes of Summer 2025, pushing some exciting colorways as we near the solstice. This week, a “South Beach” edition of the runner has emerged, coming soon.
Last year, New Balance reintroduced another retro model to their catalog, the 740. Originally a 2000s era running silhouette, the model has been repurposed for their lifestyle offerings and has landed with a wide range of colors, collaborations, and a very accessible price point. Projects from Aminé, CNCPTS, and atmos have all hit shelves already, making way for New Balance to drop some of their unique pairs, like the new “South Beach” style.
This upcoming release of the New Balance 740 leans on an already established iconic colorway from the sneaker world, the “South Beach” palette mainly used by Nike and LeBron’s line of performance shoes. The styling takes colors famously associated with Miami, Florida, namely a vivid neon blue shade and hot pink. The 740 edition of this look comes doused in the blue tone, covering the shoe’s mesh layers and midsole, while adding pink to the laces, outsoles, and N logos.
