The New Balance 1500 is getting a unique update for its 35th anniversary. Typically a “Made In UK” model, this special edition will now be crafted in Japan. Local artisans from M.Lab have worked on the shoe, delivering a high-quality touch that honors the original design while adding distinct Japanese craftsmanship.
The shoe’s upper features materials like locally sourced nubuck and smooth leather, maintaining the iconic light grey hue New Balance is known for. The forefoot and quarter panels display striking blue accents, creating a contrast that adds character without overwhelming the design. Soft yellow stitching runs along the branded elements, enhancing the aesthetic. Notably, New Balance has minimized the traditional “N” logo on this version while enlarging the “1500” text, both of which appear in pale yellow for a refined touch.
The blue paneling is both functional and fashionable, bringing fresh energy to this classic silhouette. This thoughtful combination of colors and materials speaks to New Balance’s commitment to balancing heritage with innovation. The attention to detail is further highlighted by the smaller logo and larger text, which complement the overall structure without overshadowing the design’s origins.
