Puma’s CELL Alien made its return in grand form earlier this Summer, thanks to a slew of both old and new colorways. Now, the Alien is returning to its place amongst the stars, courtesy of a new collaboration with NASA.

Puma and NASA’s new collaborative project paints quite the picture of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration through the two different silhouettes. While the RS-X we explored earlier today prominently features the USA’s Space division colors throughout the shoe, its counterpart, the CELL Alien, instead takes inspiration from beyond the stars. The shoe’s mesh base layer and numerous leather overlays provide a dark base in black, while iridescent additions to the lacing system, heel counter, and patented Puma Formstrip mimic the infinitely vast and colorful space around Earth. The EVA rubber midsole is also painted in a black base layer, speckled with bright red and blue tones stretching from toe to heel. Finally, the Alien’s visible CELL cushioning in the heel is treated with an iridescent outer layer to complete the look.
