We have some bad news. Earlier this week, MADNESS founder Shawn Yue announced that his ongoing collaboration with New Balance is coming to a close. However, in the same post, Yue shared a look at his last project, the upcoming 327 silhouette.
Shawn Yue is not exactly a household name in the United States, but he certainly is in China. Known to us as the founder, owner, and operator of MADNESS, he is better known throughout his home country for his extensive and massively successful career as an actor and singer. After establishing MADNESS to share his own curated personal style with the world, he began doing limited collaborations with his favorite brands, most notably, Boston’s New Balance. The last time the two teamed up was in April of 2019, working together on two colorways of the 990, which would later go on to be praised as some of New Balance’s best releases for the year. Now, as the collaboration between MADNESS and NB draws to a close, they are swinging for the fences one last time with the 327.
Unveiled just last month by Casablanca, the New Balance 327 is a brand new running-inspired silhouette the brand is adding to their lifestyle lineup in 2020. Launching first with the Pairisan fashion brand, Shawn Yue and co. will also give their take around the same time, approaching the shoe with more streetwear inspiration. The results are three luxurious looking colorways, black, brown/green, and white. Each pair is constructed from premium materials like leather and suede, and features some minute detailing like branded laces and tags on the lateral sides.
MADNESS X NEW BALANCE 327 RELEASE INFORMATION
The upcoming final project from New Balance and China’s MADNESS, the 327, has not yet been announced for release, though they are expected to drop sometime in the next few weeks. Arriving in three colorways, the various offerings will be available from both New Balance and MADNESS, likely retailing somewhere in teh $150+ range.
