Nike will be dropping a special new rendition of their Dunk Low silhouette dedicated to Lisa Leslie, who was the first woman to dunk in a WNBA game.

Born and raised in Southern California, Lisa Leslie climbed the ladder from an Inglewood High School to the University of Southern California then finally to the Los Angeles Sparks in 1997 where she led the team to 10 different playoff appearances and two WNBA titles. Her playing career came to a halt in 2009 when she retired with a handful of records to her name. Now she coaches, broadcasts, is a part-owner of the Los Angeles Sparks, and now will be receiving a special Dunk low rendition dedicated to her lasting mark on women’s basketball.

the offering is expected to feature a leather design that calls for purple and gold panelings and overlays with the addition of a teal Nike Swoosh logo on the sides. The number 9 is included on the ankles as another shout-out to Leslie’s jersey number while a white rubber midsole and purple outsole finish off the design.

The Lisa Leslie x Nike Dunk Low will be released later this year on July 9th via select Nike Dunk retailers and Enjoy the first look below and make sure to follow JustFreshKicsk for updates and more of the latest sneaker news from your favorite brands.
