Kiko Kostadinov’s versions of Asics SportStyle sneakers have become a hot commodity in recent years, with the unique colors and styles selling out frequently. This season, the two are introducing an update to his GT-2160, now called UB7-S, which releases in “Lava Orange” and “Dark Neptune” colors this week.
Kiko Kostadinov first partnered with Asics in 2018, teaming up to create a number of signature silhouette that borrowed heavily from the Japanese brand’s extensive archives of running footwear. Since then, Kiko has ascended to the position of creative director for the SportStyle category, which blends their performance footwear with lifestyle purposes. During his tenure, he has modified several popular models from the brand with new materials, colors, and construction, most recently taking on the GT-2160.
The Kiko version of the 2160 debuted last year as the UB6-S, but has now been updated to UB7-S, with a slightly modified look for 2024. The heel counters now feature a striped pattern, and different materials for the new look. This week, two colors are set to release, one in “Lava Orange”, and a second in “Dark Neptune”. The former features a white base for the upper’s mesh and synthetic layers, adding accents in royal blue and green, with the bright orange shade making up the laces and soles. The Neptune pair features a bright yellow mesh with black and dark green shades making up the rest of the upper.

The next release of Kiko Kostadinov’s take on the Asics GT-2160 has been scheduled to debut this week, on August 23rd, 2024. Arriving in “Lava Orange” and “Dark Neptune” colorways for the UB7-S version, pairs will be available from Asics and select retailers for $150.
