Kiko Kostadinov and Asics have one last sneaker release before they end their partnership this season. The GEL-KIRIL 2 will be the last original silhouette from the two, releasing later this Fall.

Kiko Kostadinov’s partnership with Asics is finally coming to an end. Kicked off in 2018 with the release of the GEL-Burz 1, the partnership has continued for six seasonal released, introducing new silhouettes with each project. Luckily for us, there is still time for the two partners to squeeze in one more release in 2020, which follows up on the new GEL-KIRIL silhouette that debuted back in Spring 2020. The GEL-KIRIL 2 retains most of the appeal of the original, instead opting for a non-traditional lacing system, and removing the diamond pattern overlays. Instead, the GEL-KIRIL 2 is made from two layers of mesh that fold over each other at the tongue in a burrito-style, which is then secured by a thin velcro strap. The Asics logo is present along the outside of the forefoot in leather, reinforcing a number of other tiger-stripe-like overlays. The GEL-KIRIL 2 will be available in three colorways, one sporting grey mesh with purple, green, and brown accents, and two tonal options in red and black.
