Kiko Kostadinov’s new position in the Asics design team has brought us some intriguing new releases in the past several months, with plenty more to come. This week, the two shared their latest project, two vibrant colorways of the new HS2-S GEL-MC Plus.

The partnership between Bulgarian designer Kiko Kostadinov and Asics began in 2018 when the two joined forces to create highly detailed signature footwear for Kiko’s clothing lines. That collaborative aspect lasted for several years, until the two expanded their team-up last year, with Asics naming Kostadinov one of the brand’s VP of creative design, as well as announcing a multi-year partnership highlighted by a total of ten new Asics Sportstyle products, the third of which is the HS2-S GEL-MC Plus launching next month. Combining the upper of the GEL-Kayano 14 with the midsole technologies of the GEL-Cumulus 17, each pair is constructed from a mix of mesh and leather textiles, pairing a black and grey base layer with bold primary colors for the overlays, which come in your choice of “Seaglass” green, or “Metropolis” red.
