The Kids of Immigrants brand has teamed up with Nike to bring a fresh, innovative sneaker to the market. This release celebrates the diverse cultural backgrounds of the founders, Daniel Buezo and Weleh Dennis, who are first-generation immigrants from Honduras and Liberia, respectively. Set to release in Holiday 2024, this collaboration blends unique design elements with Nike’s renowned comfort and performance features.
The Nike Air Max Sunder was originally launched in 1999, hailed for its futuristic silhouette and sleek design. The shoe features a neoprene upper, a secure heel lock fit system, a full-length Phylon midsole, and visible Air units for superior cushioning. Kids of Immigrants has reimagined this classic model, bringing a fresh look to the beloved design.
The new iteration includes a cage-like TPU overlay covering most of the shoe, creating a grid pattern on the midfoot. This detail adds a modern touch to the sneaker’s aesthetic. The design features a gradient transition from Persian violet at the base to a lighter purple hue towards the tongue and collar. Grey suede accents on the mudguard provide a stylish contrast, enhancing the overall look.
In addition, the sneaker incorporates vibrant hits of orange on the mini Swoosh located on the lateral heel and the heel pull tab. The black midsole and outsole complete the sleek, cohesive design, ensuring the sneaker stands out.
