Karl Lagerfeld, longtime creative director of Chanel, passed away earlier this year. While his passing marks the end of an era in the fashion world, PUMA is keeping his legacy alive through their second collection (first post-humous) with Lagerfeld’s estate.
PUMA and Karl Lagerfeld first teamed up in 2018, delivering a range of footwear and apparel created under the legendary designer/creative director/artist/photographer’s careful eye. This week, the German sportswear giant unveiled their latest collaboration with the Lagerfeld name, this time with under the direction of his estate. The new project is highlighted by four footwear silhouettes, two for men and two for women. On the men’s side, the Alteration gets a crisp white makeover, marked by stripes and Lagerfeld’s name in an all-over print, while the CELL Alien comes in black with blue overlays and red accents. Women’s offerings include the Roma Amor and Cali, the former of which comes dressed in all black, with Karl Lagerfeld printed in bold letters across the midsole, while the Cali features a colorful mix of red and pink tones set against a white background. The apparel collection includes a range of styles, from hoodies and sweatpants to more extreme creations from Lagerfeld’s mind.
